Fausto Santini has always been interested in the relationship between architecture and design. Each and every item is a project: an challenge and an evolution to create a pair of shoes, or a bag, which becomes more than just a simple accessory.
For Fausto Santini, designing is not just about showing his creativity. His work is heavily connected to the avant-garde fashion movement, in conjunction with modern art, and each piece is heavily researched to achieve his vision. To further his design philosophy, Fausto Santini, collaborates with great architects and designers such as Aldo Rossi, Andrea Branzi, Antonio Citterio and Sergio Clatorni.
Born in Rome, Fausto Santini started off as a lawyer. Having graduated from University, he practised law for a short period, however at the same time, his interest grew in art and design, which he later studied, gained knowledge of, and experienced whilst travelling around Europe. His father, Giacomo, owned a shoe store in Rome and was passionate about his job as a craftsman. He imparted his vast experience and passion to his son, and Fausto started out as his father's apprentice.
In 1971, a new boutique on Via Frattina in Rome was opened to showcase the revolutionary and innovative collections of Fausto, and was an incredible success!
