The Morszeck family have been making luggage in Cologne since 1898, and aluminium trunks since 1937. The polycarbonate Salsa Deluxe collection is a further development of the high-tech Salsa polycarbonate collection invented by Dieter Morszeck in 2000. In a large scale test series in 2004 & 5 by the TUV Rhineland, Salsa was rated as "the lightest and best" and crowned as test winner. Manufactured in the Rimowa factory in the Czech Republic.
All production facilities operate under the same corporate motto: “Handcrafted meets high-tech.” The precision of the craftmanship is the fundamental cornerstone for product quality today. Over 90 steps are necessary to assemble the more than 200 individu- al parts that make up a RIMOWA suitcase.
