Hunt Leather is Australia's leading independent retailer of high quality luggage, business cases, handbags, wallets and leather accessories.

Established in 1975 in Sydney by my parents, John and Elizabeth Hunt, the Hunt Leather business carries on a family tradition in leathergoods, which goes back to 1852 when John Hunt's great great grandfather established a boot and shoe factory in Balmain, making boots that the diggers wore to the goldfields.

Since 1975 we have sourced beautiful leathergoods and luggage from manufacturers across Europe, the USA and Britain. From the very early days we commissioned quality leathergoods and luggage from craftsmen around the world, to create our own ‘Hunt’ collection.

Our Hunt Leather small leathergoods and accessories are made for us in southern Spain, in a remote hill town famous for leather craftsmanship. Everything is made to order for us, to our design and specification, in carefully chosen leathers. The stitching, linings and craftsmanship are of the highest quality.

Our range of Hunt Leather luggage, including our famous shoppers and duffle bags, is made for us, to our specifications, in Colombia, of top grain “vaqueta” cowhide. This is uncorrected, chrome tanned with aniline colouring but without finish or paint. This means that it has a wonderful softness and supple feel. It absorbs the oils from your hands, and with age assumes a vintage, worn-in look. With brass fittings and good quality zippers, every bag is fully lined and made to last.
