Antonini leathergoods are made in a village in the hills outside Florence.
The Antonini family uses only the softest Italian calf leather, a buttery-soft, supple leather in gorgeous colours. They are true craftsmen, specialists in this unique form of small leathergoods construction, using few or no linings and hand-turning the edges of each piece of leather. As well as the softness, we love the vibrant colours and of course, the fact that they are still made by the Antonini family in such a lovely part of the world.
It really is a family firm - with the second generation now involved, based in a small village, with their workshop at the back of the family house, horses out the front, and hills all around. We have visited the workshop several times, and though there is not much English spoken by the older generation, and our Italian is quite rudimentary, it is really a pleasure to know the Antonini family and to have their beautiful products in our stores.
